Breeding Program

Introducing
.............................

The White Swiss Shepherd Dog

Brief History
The events which took place in the USA & Canada leading up to the recognition of the breed
are too numerous to mention, however, Agatha Burch imported ‘Lobo White Burch” from the USA
to Switzerland in the early 1970’s, then imported a female from the UK –
this was seen as Europe's first registered purebred litter and the start of the breed.

In South Africa, two females were imported from Austria in 1997,
Diva-Lady of White Valley and her daughter Ch Arizona-First Lady of Snowey River
to begin our breeding program in the Kennel of Snowey River.

In1998, we imported our first male Ch.Lord Canto vom Sutumer-Grund from Germany to compliment our ‘girls’.
In the meantime, we found a solid temperamented male “Zac of Villa Bianca’ bred by Loretta Dalias, Cape Town
and so our breeding program here started in all ernest. Today we have some of the worlds finest bloodlines in our
carefully selective breeding program. Lobo, however, can be seen as the proginator of the breed in Switzerland
and remains an important part of the history of the White Swiss Shepherd Dog.

Pedigree/Reg.
The breed is now recognised by the FCI in the countries of
Denmark, Netherlands, Brazil, Czech, France, Australia, South Africa (KUSA) amongst others.
Proven genetically different to that of their ancestors (no Albino’s) the White Swiss Shepherd Dog has become one of the world's most popular breeds in our modern times. In the USA, Canada and Europe (and even as far as Thailand) our dogs are registered, tattooed and are issued pedigrees by the residing Clubs. The FCI issues original FCI stamped pedigrees for the countries mentioned above. In South Africa the breed is registered with KUSA.
