Snoweyriver King Coyote
King enjoying the great outdoors!

It’s Good to Touch the Green, Green Grass of Home
Snoweyriver King Coyote arrived in our home recently revelling in the wide open space the farm has to offer. He ran, jumped, sniffed around made new ‘girlfriends’, leaving most of the boys highly annoyed ! Met his old rival ‘Canto’ who explained to King in no uncertain terms that he was still the Big Boss, King by the way just shrugged his shoulders.
It was great to have him back - looking every inch like my old girl Diva, his mother Brittney and his grandfather Zac. How wonderful it was to have an old favourite friend back. Thank you Sandy for letting us have our boy back and we wish you lots of luck in your new home.

King is no pussy foot dog and is a Number 1 Personal Guard just like his mom Brittney. He is a noble and confident male, well socialised, friendly and open, his pigmentation is still superb, pitch black with grey skin, eyes dark and sporting a snow white coat.
A ‘King’ he is, and back with his people.

Snowey River Rain Spirit owned by Rob & Sue Sansbury has produced a fantastic first litter. He has produced excellent bone, substance and good temperaments in his first litter abroad with Sovereign Park Sapphire who has been a devoted mom.                     Schumba ‘s Belgium Babies
Handsome Schumba is getting his fair share of love for sure. Hildegard Kemmerling breeder of Reckhem’s Castle, Belgium is delighted with her litter from Schumba and Yindee(Yamka von Terluner Schloss). The pups are now 8 weeks old and ready to leave for their new homes. Pretty lady ‘Indy Moon’ will, however, be staying on to continue in Hildegards breeding program and of course to grace the showrings in Europe as well. Hildegard reports that the litter was a lovely one with good characters and good pigmentation too. We wish Hildegard and her puppies lots of luck for the future !

September 2009:

Today I Lost a Friend.
On 8th September I arrived home to find Chango under his favourite Mulberry Tree, sleeping peacefully. Chango had gone quietly while the birds were singing their little Spring song. I prayed that he would wake up, he didn’t. Through great tears of sadness I bring to you the news that my precious boy Snowey River King of Diamonds will not be coming back from his peaceful sleep.

’Chango Child’ as I affectionately called him died of a severe and quick acting strain of Biliary of which he had no chance. The night before though, Chango did a strange thing by jumping onto my bed and sleeping next to me(usually his Dad’s place), in the morning I gave him his usual morning kiss on his muzzle. It was the last kiss I ever gave my little King………….taken from me so young. Loved and adored by me, he will be sorely missed.

Tribute to Chango.

There can only be one....

Thumbs Up For Snowey River

and had excellent show results too despite
the heavy winds that almost blew us off our feet.

BLOEMFONTEIN SHOW WEEKEND
EXTRAVAGANZA

LOCAL IS SO LEKKER !
What a proud day we had on Sunday 16th August at the Highway Kennel Club Annual Open Show. Under three different judges my youngsters and adults
did so well! Although I did the individual handling in the various classes when it came to the Best of Breed and puppy line up it was clear I needed
extra hands to help and exhibitors and friends helped where they could with the handling of my dogs in the ring, I thank them all for that.

It was a fun-filled day with newcomers to the ring too – Linda and Stan proudly showed off Falkor (Rain Master) who thoroughly enjoyed gaiting around the ring
and little Sugar was given lots of loving attention from the judge who thought she had ‘real potential’ !
So watch out for Sugar folks – she’s from the windy city of Port Elizabeth and she’s certainly going to breeze into our showrings in a big way !

I would like to thank all the judges for realising the qualities of my youngsters and thank the show organisors and sponsors for an unbelievable day
- And in the meantime, we have some lovely photo’s of our ‘Star’s’

July 2009:MAGGIE & SALLY -
DOUBLE TROUBLE
.
Snowey River Magnolia Star and
Snowey River Winter Star gave
the boys a run for their money at
the Junior KC Championship Show.
Maggie entered the ring again in
fine style after her long break from
showing and was awarded Res BOB.
Her niece Sally, owned by Steven
Pickering clocked up BOB
while human ‘mom’
Charmaine looked on proudly.

Ch Snoweyriver Magnolia Star was recently a proud mother of producing her first South African BREED CHAMPION.

“Alaska’, Snowey River Tundra Star was awarded her last championship point gaining 5x CC’s. Alaska is owned by Alan Featherstone of Port Elizabeth and usually handled by Gavin Trow. Well done to this team and to Alan for taking Alaska so far up the ladder and in so doing being true representatives of our kennel.

CHANGO'S DOING THE TANGO & MAKING SURE "LOCAL IS LEKKER"
First time out at a championship show for Snowey River King O’Diamonds was
indeed well worth it! Chango clocked up Best Puppy and 2nd in the
Puppy Herding Group under judge Mrs Gladstone from the USA.
At Natal Coast kennel Club Open show again doing his best he was
awarded Best Puppy and 1st Puppy Herding Group.
Even at this early age, Chango has incredible presence in the ring, he is snow
white, outstanding pitch black pigment, has a superb topline and excellent
tailset making it easy for his tail to trail in a genuine ‘shepherd’ way in
movement and never carried above his topline. We’re right real proud of Lux’s young son.

CITO'S 1st SHOW.
First time out for Snowey River X-Lord Cougar (Cito) was a blast – at the
Zululand Open Show on 7th June , he won Best Junior in WSSD group, Best
Junior in Herding Group and Reserve Best of Breed !
Now you would think he would leave it at that, but no way at his very first
Championship show in Durban at Kearsney College, at the Pietermaritzburg
Kennel Club Champ Show under Slovenian judge he was awarded his first
CC(championship point) at only 13 months old.
Looks like our Cito is just warming up !

Lily Steps Up to Beat the Boys
At Lily’s first appearance at a Championship Show she wowed the judge with
her outstanding movement and clinched Best Puppy and 3rd in Puppy Herding
Group showing the boys up ! Bronwyn Lawson and Lily are newcomers to the
showring and had a fabulous day at the Durban & Districts Champ show. Well
done Ladies !
Unfortunately the wheels fell off the next day for both of them, due to ‘show
nerves’ – you could see Lily’s face in the ring playing her mom like a fiddle,
got away with it once and certainly she was going to try again ! never mind,
it’s a learning experience and we’re sure to see a lot of Lily in the future. Lily’s
human ‘granny’ sms’d words of congratulations and encouragement….thank you.

Tip for the Day :
