How do you describe A FIRST LADY?
Even at 12 years old, Arizona came out ‘guns-smoking’! She was a dash of speed and a flash of light!
A stunningly beautiful ‘lady’ that had ‘put the breed’ on the showring map in South Africa
as far back as 2001 with the recognition of the breed with KUSA. Her movement was unsurpassed –
she had outstanding reach and was a very ‘showy’ girl in her day. She would ‘wow’
many judges and spectators alike with her movement and was strong competition for the White Shepherd boys!
Arizona, affectionately known as ‘Tete’ grew old gracefully with her genuine long thick and snow white coat
and kept good control of ‘her’ pack –the youngsters knew exactly who the Big Boss was.
Tete was adored by all who met her – she was charming and friendly with undying loyalty
and love for me, her human mom. We formed the most amazing relationship over the years –
I often did not speak and indicated to Tete with my eyes, she did the same – we knew exactly what we wanted from each other.
An excellent mother, she has been one of my top producing females and produced the highest number of Breed Champions
in my kennel. Her pedigree is a sought after one in Europe too and I have cleverly ‘line bred’ a lot of my breeding stock back to her,
keeping type, bone, structure, pigment , elegance and temperament –
in so doing I have fixed many great assets that Arizona had to offer. |
Arizona Is Born
Arizona was born on a mountain high in a little village nestled
inbetween the alps in Austria. She was one of 9 snow white
bundles of joy. Of my first litter, a brother to Arizona,
Arrow-Condor won Best In Show at his first Speciality show
in Germany in 1997 and her sister Alasca-Teela became
World Champion for short coat bitches in 1999
again at a Speciality show in Germany –
not bad for a first time breeder ! I was so proud.
During this time I had founded the first
White Shepherd Dog Club in South Africa where Arizona started
her show career and continued successfully showing in KUSA showrings
around the country. (Arizona was often seen handled by Ronald Juckes
of Venron Border Collies in the early days of her showing, they made
a fantastic team and ‘Tete’ thoroughly enjoyed being shown by Ron –
I thank him for that) |
